The Pi, the controllers, the games....

After researching and planning, the first step was to gather all the necessary components to build my Retro Pie. My journey began and ended on Amazon, my one stop shop for everything Retro Pie. First wsa the most important part, the Raspberry Pi and Essential parts to make it work. The heart of the Retro Pie, the Raspberry Pi, was swiftly added to my cart. Alongside it were all the accessories like a power supply, microSD card,HDMI cord and a sleek case. Then the controllers for the Nostalgic Feel, a set of USB game controllers, reminiscent of the classic SNES controllers, were crucial to preserving the nostalgic feel i was looking for. The idea of having an arcade with Street Fighter, Mario Kart, and Sonic feels like stepping into the DeLorean with Doc, back to a time when games were simple. Almost before I even started, I hit my first snag, the challenge of crafting the arcade cabinet itself. Retro Pie is a bit more user-friendly, has a straightforward install process, and the interface seems easier to navigate. It also boasts a large active community with extensive documentation, tutorials, and forums that make it easy for users to find solutions to common issues. The main thing I found was that Retro Pi's setup process was mo...

I'm thrilled to start on an exciting journey of creating the ultimate arcade experience, complete with all the beloved games that defined my childhood. The burning questions on my mind throughout the years was "could I do this? is this hard?" but the bigger question that I have been asking this past week is "What are the steps I should take to successfully create an arcade with ALL my 90s games on it to make this dream, a reality?" For me, It's not just about gaming, it's a tribute to an era that holds a special place in my heart. This would allow me to enjoy a vast library of classic games from systems like NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis... all in one compact, customizable system. The prospect of recreating the magic of the arcades of my childhood in the comfort of my home, is simply irresistible. As I dive into this project, I hope to dis...
